1. Research
“Every piece of the puzzle, no matter how small, that contributes to the understanding of cancer is a success.” – This is how the German Cancer Aid explains on its website why they do what they do. And we can’t help but agree! And that is exactly the reason why we support German and Italian Cancer Aid, among others, which largely invest in the field of research. The research projects themselves are extremely diverse and most of the money goes to local universities that deal with a wide variety of cancer types – from breast to skin cancer.
2. Prevention
Knowledge is power – especially when it comes to the topic of prevention. Early detenction is key when it comes to good survival rate. This means: Raising awareness is essential. That is why we support, among others, the Austrian Cancer Aid, in particular public campaigns such as the Pink Ribbon – the well-known pink ribbon symbol is used to draw attention to the important issue of early breast cancer detection.
3. Direct help
Together with our great partner salons, we have found another way to help people battling with this problem: free or heavily discounted Hairdreams hair pieces, with which the people who lost their hair, can get their old hair back. Most of the time we use our MicroLines hair replacement system, that can bring back a full head of hair even on the most severe hair loss cases. We are particularly proud that this form of support takes place largely in cooperation with Hairdreams partner salon, which in many cases donate their time and service as part of it.
Sustainability
#hairdreamsgoesgreen: Well packaged is half the battle
Some of our products have to be packaged – there is no way around it. However, we decided to package it with sustainable materials. For example, with our “Hairdreams goes green” initiative, we are switching all paper packaging to 100% recycled paper and switching from plastic to fabric wherever possible.
Reuse instead of throw away: Second life for our extensions
Single use extensions? Not with us! Our extensions have always been reused several times and can always be reattached – both our tape and our bonding extensions. When it comes to our bonding extensions, this process is actually quite complex: Our partner salons send the exclusive 7-star hair to us specifically so that the so-called “bonding” (the connection point) can be reapplied. And the extensions can be attached to the customer’s hair again. By the way: We are currently working on a program in which worn hair, which would otherwise end up in the garbage, is used as fertilizer.
Conscientious hair sourcing
One of our most important topics: our hair! In doing so, we have subjected ourselves to a strict code that goes far beyond the usual industry standards. We only use healthy hair from adults who donate their hair voluntarily and at their own request – of course for a fair fee. We apply the highest safety and health standards in all our european production facilities.
NANO Sticks: Melt down and make new
For Laserbeamer NANO hair lengthening and thickening, we deliver the Hairdreams hair in so-called “NANO Sticks”. These are the white-grey caskets that are slid into the device. After the extensions are securely attached to the hair, the sticks are left with no hair. What happens to them? Our hairdressers send them back to us, because they receive a deposit per piece. We then melt them down and – surprise – make new sticks out of them.
Small gestures, big impact
Additionally, we think that taking care of our enviroment and fellow human beings is extremely important, even in everyday things. Because even small gestures can make a big difference. ?
Support cancer aid programs with printer toner
At our company old printer toners do not go into the trash, but are carefully collected in a collection box. The proceeds from this benefit the Austrian Children’s Cancer Aid. Packaging from the professional hands of Lebenshilfe
Whenever we have something to wrap, such as Christmas presents for our employees, we have been using a competent partner for years: Lebenshilfe Gratkorn. In this workshop, people with disabilities produce true masterpieces and we are always happy about the wonderful results. A big thank you for the great work!
Upcycling: from banners to tote bags
What to do with old advertising banners that are usually thrown away carelessly? Our idea: conjure up unique carrier bags! Each piece is unique, lovingly handcrafted in the workshops of charitable organizations. These support people who are disadvantaged in their lives for a wide variety of reasons.
